Uh, is anyone else having extraordinary long d/l times here?
The white background for the posts isn't showing up at all for me on the home page, and when I tried taking a look at GSTF on FireFox, well ... fuggetaboutit.
Am I alone?

aha, Yes it has become slow, I see the reason why, the post GO! Smell our final Detox day! has 3 pictures, each image of around 2 MB approximately, I will ask Jim to fix it up.
Update: I see few other posts too with the same image size issue, thanks a lot for informing me, I am gonna get it fixed on urgent basis.

Thanks Deep for sorting - I've had dreadful problems here in the UK on my 2mb home connection - even works 10mb line wasn't exactly blazing.
I know i asked the question earlier with MIke but does anyone check the file sizes before they upload them or is that something you can do 'on the fly' and amend sizes and dpi etc as people upload.
Problem is if you insist o certain sizes - the non technical but motivated will stop uploading or even move away.
We have the opposite problem at Fabulous Photo Gifts of course - people uploading 3.5k images for a 1000 piece jigsaw etc.

I do it on the fly as you put it...
alter the image as I post and then check the html just to be safe...
really large images I photo shop but thats it....

No worries Deep - we've deleted a few of the images now anyway but feel free to resize if you get the chance!

was link luv part of the problem - i've only just realised that a posters last article no longer shows up. Shame - really liked that feature and I'm sure it helped generate traffic back to a persons own blog/site as they changed - particularly when there were repeat comments on a really long discussion.
I'd like it back if that's possible?
The picture management/editing on wordpress is shocking.
Apart from the small area to show what you are writing making it really hard to see what you are actually doing, it really doesn't allow you to resize a picture easily.
Is there a setting whereby any picture you upload can be displayed at a preset size (or a selection of size).
My last post had three images and it is almost impossible to size them correctly. Each time they look correct in the editing area when I then publish they change size and/or aspect ratio. Dragging the edge of the picture is awkward and often leads to terrible results as the aspect ratio is not locked.
Anyone else find this or am I missing something?
Purple13 - I have re-enabled CommentLuv Plugin, Akismet guys have removed Gareth's China IP from their blacklist.. I had emailed them 3-4 days back and they confirmed it.
Gareth - If you are on Windows XP then use Windows Resize Power Toy.. I have provided some info here

My China IP address will now be a Thai one, I also go into Spam from my Thai work IP address. Outside work is fine.
