Hi Deep and the gang - (thoughts with you all at the moment).
I've noticed lately gstf's takes a good few seconds to load - even on our 10mb line here at work.
I've refrained from adding any images to my stories as these are usually the culprits but it may be worth checking.
A colleague did a recent wordpress update and apparently some have suffered slow speeds as a result. Don't know any more than that as I'm not too familiar with WP.

Yes, you are right.. it takes more time because of the images and too many links (sidebar). The links are not the main problem but part of it, it basically adds up to the page size (HTML code) also apart from that, I can see couple of widgets using remote Javascript files, so that can also be the reason.
There are few more issues which are too technical to discuss here but we will be working out on those issues too. (We had discussed when Jim had come here - Mumbai)
About the slowness after WP update - no there is no reason for WP to become slow after the update. I have been running WP on 3-4 blogs and everything seem to be running fine.
