My hero is myself? Is myself eligible to be my own hero? What am I talking about?

Hero.
Wow. I had to give this a few days. We would all like to be our own best friend. Our own best hero. We should, really. I daresay that many of us here at GSTF are! We have confidence, we do, we does.
Now, with all that nice stuff shoved aside, I want to point you into the direction of my mentor. Kathy Lynn Douglass. I'm going to give her a "Flower Smeller" award, now that I've gone "Public" so to speak.
She IS my hero. We each define "hero" in our own way.
Kathy taught me (and continues to teach me, for over 19 years now) to be real, but to also understand that choices have consequences.
She is brutally honest, truly brilliant and could give a flying flip about what anyone else thinks of her. She knows it doesn't matter.
She cares deeply about what people think -- this is the difference.

This is what she says on her profile: Right now I'm a dissident--fringe dweller--truth teller--psychic (Isn't everyone?)--earth lover. I am evolving--low maintenance--high confidence. Three million people on this planet have higher IQs than mine, and three billion people on this planet have greater incomes than mine. I have no worries.

Go read about my hero if you like.

Why heros have to have superpowers?

Heros have super powers to make them larger than life.
It also reinforces the feeling that the average person could not achieve these thing because they dont have powers...
Leaves us feeling powerless and gives us something to dream of being able to do....

Well, good explaination..I wish to have the power to fly..but I don't really like Superman, Batman, Spiderman..However, I do like Fantastic Four especially Susan Storm..Wonder Woman is totally out of my list..Well, I don't really quite sure that I can pick only one hero out of all the heroes available..And perhaps there are new ones rising..

The first time I read this question...my brain was blank (no jokes on this one...although, I'm thinking of some). My hero is my husband. He takes care of me, he is my best friend, he comforts me, he gets me out of jams, he sticks by me no matter what (okay, now he sounds like a dog), he tries to cheer me up when I'm down, puts up with my sh**, takes care of me when I am sick, misses me when we are apart, makes me feel loved, appreciated and cared for, lets me know he loves and likes me, enjoys it when I'm happy and just his presence bring a calm to our home. What Super Power can to that!!
