I am a fan of Positive Thinking. Do you think Positive Thinking can help people succeed? If so, why? If not, why?
Can Positive Thinking Really Help You Succeed?
Hi Wenrich & welcome to flowers!

On positive thinking - it's is essential and 2 quotes just for you:
'A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.' ~Herm Albright, quoted in Reader's Digest, June 1995
'Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference'. ~Winston Churchill
Feel free to share your wisdom in the home blog where you'll find plenty of thorns & flowers, a great mix. Enjoy and welcome aboard.
I have seen, heard and read on Positive Thinking. In addition to Negative Thinking. I shall not defer, yet I prefer to propose a new level of thinking. As a pioneer of The Art and Science of Total Success, in the training I conducted, I have introduced another level, Beneficial or Detrimental Thinking. This is because Positive or Negative are most apt to suit numbers, and may not fit huwmen behaviors. *Huwmen*, w added as a respect for women. For example, an individual goes to see a doctor, and later, the doctor says, "You are positive H.I.V." Yes, it is positive, but we do not see the individual enthusiastically jumping up and down in total gladness. Again, when another individual promotes freedom of drugs, alcohol, gambling, sex, and what are similar, just because he is a positive thinker on these, a society can experience free doom. Thus, what is positive or negative, the wise shall consider on whether it is beneficial or detrimental to her or him, and others too. That is the thinking I promote. Thank you for reading this, and more shall I share with you soon. Total cheers!!!
Positive/Negative - Beneficial/detrimental - Itss just semantics really zublizainordin - however whatever works for you.
Most people know what we mean when we say positive or negative thinking. Nit pickers can pull up the examples you gave but in the main most will know what is meant. I give training to people where I work on various processes we use and in a class I can always rely on one candidate to pull me up for semantics or the one case that doesn't fit the model/work. Personally I would rather not get bogged down in these things. As long as the principle is understood the rest is waffle and petty pandering.
Postivie thinking is fine but it is nothing without planning, initiative and action. You need the whole package.
Positive thinking helps you succeed if only in that keeps you from succumbing to negative thoughts and giving up!
ok here is my take on it: Positive thinking helps, but one cannot make oneself think positively, that is artificial. Brining about artificial positiveness is not much use, just like artificial laughter.
But they say that if you smile often enough even when you are sad, you'll start actually feeling better. I think this applies to positive thinking. If you are naturally a pessimist but really take the time to force yourself to repeat a few positive thoughts each day, you'll actually find yourself being more positive. I think we should set up an experiment on this one.
Dare we say the law of attraction and creating our own realities?
The distance we have to master is the 5 inches between our ears!
Positive thinking is the head start before you achieve success in anything..How would you expect to achieve any success if you been thinking negative?

I think it was Abraham Lincoln that said, "Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." On that note, does happiness have anything to do with "positive thinking"?
Does one have to be 'happy' in order to succeed or practice positive thinking?
.::thinks::.

One doesn't necessarily have to be completely happy to succeed or think positive. BUT, why wouldn't one want to be happy?
To be happy or to be fulfilled...
We'd argue fulfillment is more important here people....
Why would one be unhappy if one is fulfilled? :)
"oh form post, oh forum post"
Very easily Zack....
You could bury a dead pet in a special place in the garden....you're not happy but that closure could be part of fulfillment.
Ahhh. That's very true that one can, in fact feel fulfilled and not be happy.
To carry it further, fulfillment must sometimes be a stepping stone to achieve happiness. While I'm burying the dead pet I feel saddened, yet fulfilled and therefore, later I felt much better. If I had someone else bury the pet for me, I wouldn't feel that fulfillment and continue to be sad later on.
I'm a huge fan of Andrew Cohen -- recently he said:
Why, for the luckiest people who have ever been born, should happiness be a birthright? Why should our spiritual aspirations be focused on the pursuit of inner peace alone? Did God create the universe so that you and I, at the beginning of the twenty-first century, could be happy? Is that really all there is to this fourteen-billion-year process? And why is it that so many of us presume that we deserve to be happy in the first place? What is it that we have actually done to give us such an innate privilege?

This was in the last issue of "What Is Enlightenment" (a marvelous zine, in my opinion) and it truly made me consider our involvement here on this third rock from the sun.

changes do happen. I know they are the trace of time , adidas f50 adizero, irresistible and inevitable. the moment I saw my father I should not recognize him.I know he is getting old ,but returning home after more than 4moths,the symptoms of old should have grown beyond my imagination. I felt guilt and regret. I know I am the killer who take away his strength and youth.apparently he was pleased that I arrived so early and brought presents for them. when I was young I always thought he was some kind of tyrant , stern and severe.Nike Mercurial Vapor, I thought he was not approachable and touching.while with years passing by, in the process of my growing up and his getting old , these impression fades and instead it is replaced by words as gentle caring and loving . he played cheese and badminton with me, he would sing with me , he cooked for me , he chat with me , he is tolerant of me.my dear father and all my families , I say sorry for my past fault , I know sometimes I just easily surrender myself to the various temptation, and lose myself and my way. but believe me , I just easily surrender myself to the various temptation, and lose myself and my way. football boots, but believe me ,my experience is added over time and I can preserve my values and trace my path to maturity
