When Sue Valentine and I wrote a cookbook, called Dates, (published by Zodiac) we found how versatile this fibre-filled fruit really was. And now, 70 recipes later we keep on discovering more. Like, did you know you can add dates to flapjack and use a spoon of date syrup, to make the famous British oaty traybake even scrummier? Or that you can put dates into beef or pork casserole to add thickness and sweetness?

So, guys, you share your tips and I'll share mine.

Before we read your book, Jo - the only date experience we had (aside from dinner and drinks when we first met of course) was raw and straight outta the fridge / fruitbowl.....

Take a date, stone it, and wrap it in bacon for devils on horseback with a Middle Eastern twist. Stick em on a baking sheet and cook for 15 mins in a hot oven - then skewer with cocktail stick

or, easypeasylemonsqueezy - date balls - great name, eh? bung equal portions of chopped dates and walnuts in a blender (not more than 100g of each or you will stuff up your liquidizer) and whizz, slowly til mixed. Roll into balls the size of a Maltezer in the palm of your hand and dust in sifted icing sugar. Voila. Delish

When I cook with dates I tend to let them cook while I stand about looking glamorous and helpless ;)

changes do happen. I know they are the trace of time , adidas f50 adizero,irresistible and inevitable. the moment I saw my father I should not recognize him.I know he is getting old ,but returning home after more than 4moths,the symptoms of old should have grown beyond my imagination. I felt guilt and regret.
