Could you live life backwards like Benjamin Button?

Posted on March 16th, 2009 by Jim

Anyone else seen all 3 hours of The Curious Case of Benjamin button? Inspired by this 1921 very short story by F Scott Fitzgerald - read the gist of it here, it only takes 5 minutes and they milked a 3 hour film out of it. It really made me think about life is what you make it but not a box of chocolates, forrest.

Both book & film are about a man who starts aging backwards with bizarre consequences, ending up with the same result whichever way we GO! “My Body Is a Cage” insists Brad Pitt as Benjamin Button, featured in the theatrical trailer together with Cate Blanchett & Julia Ormond who pulled in thirteen Academy award nominations:

I went to see this ‘life is too short’ film last week and have to confess I cried – couldn’t find a parking space for the life of me. When was the time you saw a film that moved you to tears? Backwards or forwards, do tell and feel free to share clips from it here in comments.

All you need to do is copy the youtube link, paste it in comments here and add a v after http. Thanks! Time for me to play out now, must GO! Share films that moved you right here……

Twilight the movie didn’t do anything for me… apparently, the book is way better… usually the way. Glad someone enjoyed it.

the books are great, and if you let your imagination do the walking, then even better, the movie was great, a few changes from the book, but the it took in some parts of book 2 not much just alittle, New Moon is out in November and Moppet and I have already made plans to see it, its a big year, HP out in May, and then New moon YIPPEEE
        I think I am in Heaven… lol…

I haven’t seen Ben Button as yet but plan to.

Not sure about the code, however, Lorenzo’s Oil is one movie that I sobbed and sobbed while watching.

    Hmm, living life backwards.

Birthdays and Christmas would be crap, you have to give you favourite stuff back.
I also don’t really think going the toilet would be anything to look forward to, regurgitating your food would probably not be that nice.
Diets would be funny, watching yourself gradully turn more and more into a bloater.
Fights and accidents would be OK as in general you would be healthier after them and of course painless.
The final few seconds would leave you mentally scared if it wasn’t for the fact that you would no longer exist after most of you is done retreating up a falopian tube and a small portion retreats to your fathers testes.

I think overall the way we have it now is probably for the best.
