Go! Smell the Winter Photo Opportunity

Lucy's Igloo

Lucy's Igloo

You may think you can only take good pictures when the sun shines but as our very own Lucy showed today, with a little imagination and a lot of snow, any day becomes a good photo opportunity.

As you can see, we finally woke up to a white out of snow this Thursday morning – the roads were the worst I’ve seen in 15+years around here.

Still we made it into work all the same.

Wherever you are and whatever extremes of weather you’re experiencing at the moment, stay safe and spare a thought for the more vulnerable members of our society – the elderly or homeless etc.

I’ll finish with a question – when did your last unexpected photo opportunity occur? Where and how please. We need a good long read these dark nights.

(C’mon Lucy – its started snowing out here – hurry up and finish that igloo!)

Great photo – she looks like she is having a ball.

My camera is attached to me most of the time now, but the last opportunity of a snow shot was at Christmas. I was in Paris and woke up early. A trip onto the balcony revealed it was still snow and rarely for Paris, it had settled! So I rushed out and walked along the Champs Elysees and started snapping away. The fast melting snow and the early morning sunlight resulted in some lovely photos of a sleepy Paris waking up to a surprisingly white world.

Sadly it only lasted an hour and it was back to beautiful winter sunshine, which was just as beautiful.

Quite frankly Purple that photo explains the state of the British economy.

Approx figures say that £3.1 billion has been lost this week in the UK economy and its obviously because kids are building igloos instead of making Primark clothes.

I’ll be happy when the snow disappears.

Looks pretty for about an hour I agree then it just makes everyday life a pain (for those that have nothing better to do than go sledging or build igoos).

My kids made snow daleks, K-9 and an igloo – although not as good as yours – it has collapsed!

I hope you had planning permission for that structure

    Snow blizzard anyone?

I made a sand castle on the beach this afternoon, but I’m afraid the nearest I came to this sort of weather was asking for more ice for my second G & T at the beach bar.
