GO! Smell the flowers and the open book

Posted on August 17th, 2007 by Jim

Thanks to the Irrelevant Cheetah who sent GO! Smell the flowers this quote by Wislawa Szymborska, the 1996 nobel laureate :

‘Every beginning, after all, is nothing but a sequel, and the book of events is always open in the middle’

Hmm. Takes some thinking about, do let us know your interpretation on this one. Your genius is most welcome!

Hmmm. I’d argue everything has a beginning, middle and end apart from a circle – is that Einstein reincarnated?

  2. fab says:

Erm, Wislawa Szymborska sounds like an anagram to me and the middle of the book to me means mid life, middle aged guys, the clocks tickin!

How funny is that Einstein cat?

  3. Gareth in England says:

    Depends Dave.
If you choose to use Radians as your measurement then the accepted point of zero radians is given as the right hand most intersection with a horizontal line passing through the centre of the circle.

  4. dubaidave says:

    Fairplay G in E.

  5. gareth in China says:

Although you could argue the strat of a circle is ‘C’ and the end of a circle is ‘E’, personally I prefer 0 radians though.
