Finally, time to get REAL

Posted on December 26th, 2008 by RYK

Hello friends, apologies for being away for so long, I have been Tweeting Away these past few weeks and I’m addicted to it. You can follow me on Twitter on RYK1.

For the last 10 years, I have been silently watching as one crooked scheme after another, from fancy bonds to illegitimate wars, has been hatched and sold to people. The people readily guzzled all these down, faster than a tequila shot, showing that ignorance is bliss so long as there is a new BMW in the garage. Now with the souffle finally popping and bringing the house down with it, I can snigger and say “you greedy b@#$@#$s”.

Today someone forwarded me an interview with Gerald Celante, who is one the only people who calls it as it is. Here it is for your listening pleasure:

After you hear this, you are going to say “ofcourse”, so then I ask you, why is it that we want to hide from the truth and exist in an unnatural state of bliss?

    Welcome back RYK…!

Thought we’d lost you an dhope that GSTF upgrade will bring us not only profile pics but alos a twitter / tweeter type function to make us more live…

Gerald has words of grounded wisdom I’d not heard before – especially clarifying that 09 will get worse not better and even moreso than the great depression – he made concerning calls on credit cards and how people of yesteryear used to dress with dignity although comparatively poor – different to the modern day attitude that’ll have to change…..

its refreshing to hear him, the part of you that always said “that BS” but no one else supported it can now feel validated. What the hell is gangsta dressing? A society that idolises cheap hoodlums (these are not even mafia) peddling drugs and shooting people in gangs has surely lost it way… really well called by Gerald!

Yes we should see Twitter style “status updates” with BuddyPress

I think that people know, they just are doing what they can to stay afloat as well as stocking up with food and such. I think it’s the media sugar coating it so there is not a mass hysteria. People who know are doing things, but quitely. shhh :)

    I think I went into moderation…… hmmmmmm

    take two:

Ignorance is bliss… but not a legal defense….

Hubby and I have been saying for more than 18mths the bubble is bursting, it should really come as no surprise after every boom there is a bust.
The thing I find funny is most of the market is correcting but still higher or at least equal to where it was before the boom…

The problem is greed, people have gotten use to certain things and there it goes…

Our mining town is on tenderhooks at the moment.. one mine closed loss of 50 jobs, now another is closing until the market improves 190 jobs, the mayor is in panic mode, the towns are quietly waiting….

As for preparing, we are getting our house ready to sell, and consentrating on being debt free.
The media I think isnt sugar coating it however I do think it is perpetuating it. If they didnt continue to report it, perhaps the market would slowly settle… instead of becoming the feeding frenzy it has….

The Guy in the interview is spot on…
The Great Depression will look like a walk in the park… because back then people didnt have credit up to their eyeballs, equity loans on their homes which now is falling at a rate of knots, mobile phones, contracts on services, car loans, boat loans, clothing accounts… everything including food these days seems to be bought and paid for with credit…..

It is so nice to finally be vindicated although I wish it wasnt going to cause so much pain…
