GO! Smell the police!

Posted on March 27th, 2008 by Jim

Well as all the BLOG idol entries are now in and expected to continue in comments over the weekend we’ve enjoyed standing back and not policing the entries – we’ve let it all GO! Aussie Cynics last post also invites the five finalists to dig a bit deeper and add a personal touch and that final dimension.

Then it’s voting time – all founders will vote and all regulars are welcomed to continue to air their views in the comments of each respective posts. What of policing blogs? Do you feel we should moderate or encourage freedom of speech as we do here at GO! Smell the flowers. How times have changed with policing!

Thanks to flower smeller Diane in the UK for sending the Ladybook Police edition. In the UK Police have suffered a poor reputation and as Ali G spells out they have been termed filth, scum, fuzz and pigs.Do let us know or we’ll be taking down your particulars and may even get CHiPs onto you.

STAND AWAY FROM THE AREA.  MOVE ON.  THERES NOTHING TO SEE. Comments welcomed though!

you really need to check out my latest post need a giggle over at aussie… the link is coming…. yep there it is at the bottom of the page…. hehehehehe… just like magic….

I think as far as policing comments…. a definate no!…. unless they are extremely offensive… otherwise I think we are doing pretty good job of containing troublesome comments… however perhaps something can be done if an arguement is getting out of hand…. perhaps a mediator or similar.. just to cool the arguing parties…. but i also think we do a good job with that as well…..

As flowers is growing we seem to be getting use to each founder and many regulars personalities quirks…. and it is making the comments interesting…..
We are missing Gareth and Angry hasnt been around much as well as few others…. dam holidays…. lol….. I think the community is shaping us nicely with the new founders it should be a hoot, however a few personality conflicts are settling…. and tolerance, understanding and acceptance is the name of the game at the moment … or am I dreaming… lol…. aussiecynic’s last blog post..I need a Giggle how about you?

Oh, I forgot to ask this earlier on – does any of my Brit mates here know the results of the football game last night, UK-France…? 8) ;)

Ok, me off now, have a great w.e folks, see you when I see you, mwah!

  3. I LOVE Every Breath You Take. It is playing right now as I type this reply. Nice way to start the morning. Ooops…it just went off. Had to restart it.

Anyway, I don’t see GO! Smell The Flowers as a blog anymore, but rather a forum. A BLORUM! (Remember folks…you heard it here first!) It’s founders are the moderators and in that aspect, there IS a certain amount of policing that should be done. If you don’t, you’ll get all sorts of comments that just may run quality individuals away and I’m not just talking about those who post. Lurkers….you never know who’s watching you. Maybe even Sting: “Every move you make, every step you take, I’ll be watching you.”

      Nice notice Empress!

Flowers is just the start of where we’re headed – about 2% of where we’ll be in 12 months…..once the 20 founders are settled we’ll be developing software with the head boys at WordPress ( Out tech whizz and founder RYK knows the gang there) and bringing out new community add ons based on our founders needs….

BLORUM but not BORE ‘em right? ;-) Not that you do but it has been known in the early days here as we grow n learn together*

      * GROUP HUG OPTIONAL

      • After thinking about it, I think a ‘G’ should have been added — BLOGRUM. Much better. Come up with a slogan for that one, will ya?

        • Jim & Em says:

Hmmmm well our tagline is ONE JOURNEY – MANY DISCOVERIES…..so that holds true for the site – a browser journeys onto the site and discovers more than one thing. Fair?

Part of the untouched garden as its early days in FORUMS & by the way the other Jim n Em pages will slowly fade away as they become more community based to benefit you founders, regulars and well – wherever the garden flourishes really…

BLOGRUM sounds more like an online drinking game (NOW THERES A THOUGHT) – we create binge drinkers under fun at forums and then help cure them over in the health section – gotta love that duality.

BLOGRUM – Best served with ice and a slice.

BLOGRUM – The Seamans best friend (Lets not GO! there)

The winner of the Kentucky Derby – BLOGRUM

Out smart your buddies – play BLOGRUM

Ok we’ll work at it but we could be onto something – thats the idea!

  4. Blog or forum? You must be doing something right! You seem to have lots of interest about your blogs!

I do alternate health — I’m not out to sell you a product.
Don’t fear that you will arrive at a sales pitch, but after reading about some cheap natural remedies — you will want some because you will feel better when you are healthy from the inside out…

The term Reiki is the Oriental word for Universal Life Pressure Power. It is a really simple and easily gotten recovery method that utilizes universal life electricity, the electricity which permeates our entire world and all living points.
