How are you starting your day?

Posted on November 3rd, 2009 by Purple13

Are you a creature of habit or do you make it up as you go along? Is one better than the other?

Here’s how I start a typical work day (which is pretty much every day)….

Rise, shower and downstairs to make a Peppermint tea. Fire up the computer and check last nights emails.

Check The website is functioning, no server issues etc, customers photographs are being recorded correctly on the server.

Post the days fantasy iPod playlist track (unless I’ve heard something on the radio, it’s usually chosen the night before).

Say good morning on Twitter – check for any mentions during the night.

Then take a cup of something up to Mandy and think about having some breakfast.

Sounds all pretty dull routine I know, but for me, there’s a comfort in familiarity – perhaps its a compensation for my poor memory (and it is really poor) … and today is no exception.

How’s your day starting? Who have you already said hello too online?

  1. I’m not only a creature of habit…but a slave to it :) I do find comfort in knowing how the morning will go…and veering from it often throws the rest of my day into a tailspin…..I try to be flexible at times…..but sometimes being ridgid is more comfortable.

  2. Today is only here for today so I will enjoy it.
Worry is only a worry if I worry about it and I won’t.
I accept myself as I am and others as they are.
Life is healthier as I eat well and exercise regularly.
Frequent stops to relax and smile make it better.
In all I have so very much to be thankful for.

  3. I begin every day trying to persuade my clock to retreat an hour or two – those mornings come too fast!

Then it’s to the bathroom – quick before the three males in the house get in there – and they say WOMEN hog the bathroom – geez!

Tea is next in copious amounts and then….my true love enters my life to accompany me with its warmth and sincerity throughout the day – laptop I love you!
