From Sin to Supporter ~ Part V out of V
“Drag is when a man wears everything a lesbian won’t” ~ Author Unknown
Clinically Clueless from Southern California on the final leg of a journey about homosexuality and how I became calling it a sin to being a supporter.
Most of the following FACTS come from The New York Magazine:
Symmetry of homosexual brain resembles that of the opposite sex.
Gay men are more likely for their hair to whorl in a counter clockwise direction.
Gay men and straight women have increased density of finger print ridges on the thumb and pinky.
![]()
In navigational tasks and verbal fluency gay men and lesbians tend to have atypical scores.
Gay men are more likely to be left-handed.
Among white gay men they are smaller in overall stature.
Hearing acuity is more like the opposite sex for homosexuals.
Index finger of most straight men are shorter than their ring fingers, and for most women they are the same length or longer. Gay men and lesbians tend to have reversed ratios.
The second-born son is 33% more likely to be gay than the first born, and the third is 33% more likely than the second and so on.
There is a “gay sound” as a research study found that 75% of the participants picked them out correctly.
In gay men the hypothalamus, is similar in size to straight women.
There are many generalization about gay men. For some, the only exposure to homosexuality is through the media or word-of-mouth. Unfortunately, this is how many stereotypes (often wrong) are spread. While it may fit some, it does not fit all of one type of group. Stereotyping is dangerous, can breed prejudice and hate and can really get you into awkward situations. Never assume anything, not everyone of a certain group are the same. The following information is from taking with gay men and looking at gay blogs and websites, but they are STEREOTYPES:
Gay men like Broadway show tunes.
Gay men like Divas such as Diana Ross, Bette Midler, Barbra Streisand, Elizabeth Taylor and Liza Minneli.
Gay men are more concerned with presentation and the way they look.
Gay men have a better ability to gift wrap.
Gay men enjoy the arts as leisure activity and professions (theatre, dancing, musicians, singing, writing etc…).
Gay men enjoy shopping.
Gay men often choose helping professions such as nursing, social work, therapists, teaching, etc.
Gay men have an aversion to watching most sports except for figure skating.
Gay men are more emotional.
Lesbian Stereotypes
>
The following information is from taking with homosexual women and at gay and lesbian blogs and websites, but they are STEREOTYPES:
They are butch.
Appear more masculine.
Go into traditionally male occupations such as construction, military, law enforcement, truck driving, etc.
Enjoy playing baseball, softball or basketball.
Man haters.
Feminists.
Short hair.
No dresses or skirts.
Tom boy.
As I stated earlier I need to see, “what the Bible says, what my experiences are, and who I know God to be in my life and must agree with the original Greek and Hebrew and within the context of the culture in which the Bible was written for it to become my own belief. What really turned things around for me was the Biblical basis for a different solid view point that used the culture and Greek and Hebrew. Also, that trends are moving forward to looking like there is partly some genetic basis, albeit, unperfect for the time. It also matches my experience with people in my life who are homosexual.
I will end my journey here, but I could go on because there is so much information and much that I read my way through and looked at over the past few years. So, this is a very short version of how I became a gay rights supporter and what I learned along the way. Thank you for taking time to read my journey and hoped it helped you learn something about yourself or others and to be more compassionate to yourself and to others.
The following are the books and websites that I can remember that I used (*think differently than I do):

Excellent as always cc – this final post brings it all together and thanks for sharing your own voyage to true understanding and support for homosexuals.
I also have many in my life who are gay and lesbian and would hate to think about them being hurt by discrimination fuelled by prejudice and ignorance.
These posts are important to bring understanding of some of the issues they face. Thank you.
Angela,
Thank you. I hope it did bring awareness to others and compassion and understanding.

Thanks for that info CC – WOW – loved that Liz Taylor quote…maybe the same could be said about the fashion / airline industry as well – male ‘hosts’ not pilots
Most definitely and male nurses.

Hi CC, I’ve kind of missed the previous parts but any journey that ends up in being a gay rights supporter is one worth following so well done!
There is actually a really interesting debate on youtube about whether the catholic church is a force of good for the world, slightly off topic but a lot of interesting points regarding the church and homosexuality.
Lib,
Thank you! If you are interested in reading the other posts, you can also go to my blog and click on the cross in the middle of the rainbow on the right side…it will give you all of the posts for my series.
The YouTube video was VERY interesting. YOu should do a post based on it. I have many, many criticisms with the Catholic church and some praise as I do the Protestant churches.

Bloody poofs, always think they’re hard done to but actually have more allowances made fir thrm than many of societies groups.
Funnily enough it was only last weekend I watched a big Russian guy I know throw a couple of poofs about 20 feet down an embankment into the sea, serves them right for taunting him and generally being offensive around the communal pool area where I live. It works both ways, if they want respect then perhaps also understanding many of us are not comfortable having them mince and fag around in family areas would help their cause.
GIT,
How unfortunate that you have had such a negative experience with people who are homosexual. My experience is that most are quite respectful of others and behave as heterosexuals with the exception of loving the same sex. The more flamboyant and “trouble-makers” are in the minority, but are the most covered by the media. Unfortunately, it provides a skewed image of what it means to be homosexual. Most, are quite respected in their professions which include attorneys, psychologists, physicians, scientists and other highly respected professions.
Like those who are heterosexual, those who are homosexual come in all types.
Clinically Clueless´s last blog ..Poohful Words of Wisdom
Actually those who are homosexual only come in one type – the same type as themselves, those who come in all types are bisexual.
Jesus Gareth, ‘mince and fag around in family areas’?!?! They? Them?
That’s possibly the most offensive comment I’ve read since “All the hunters gather up, there’s a n—– in the White House.”
You have to be joking right?
so its ok for a couple of guys to ‘heavy pet’ each other in front of kids and then when someone asks them to refrain or go to their homd they can then tease him about wanting to join in? I’d have helped him remove the guys except my mad Russian mate needed no help.
Maybe you can pass judgement after you’ve seen some of the behaviour that goes on over here, this was all in front of kids as young as five, so yes mince, fag and as many other offensive commrnts as I can think of. Thankfully the condo’s manager has issued a notice of eviction to this guy should it happen again.
Would it be ok for me to have my hands inside some girls bikini bottoms and get her breasts out in front of you neice? I doubt it so why does some old poofter think its fine to play with his fellow poofters arse and nuts?
Trouble with liberals is you get annoyed and on your high horse before you gather facts.
So in your original homophobic rant, why didn’t you mention heavy petting?
Because its not your issue, its an excuse to be homophobic. Or an extremely practiced version of one.
Oooooh, give us a kiss ducky
Gareth, all I’m saying is, is two loving people who happen to be gay outwardly showing their affection to each other is more offensive than bloated middle aged businessmen abroad paying for bar girls and effectively enslaving them. to me its nowhere near as bad as sexual slavery. they are merely showing outward love not sexual exploitation. Also is it the act of intimacy you have an issue with? Is it acceptable for heterosexual people to be outwardly intimate? if so why? if not why not? I guarantee you have met more people in your life who were gay than you may have known. Did you not also play rugby? A game which encourages men to bathe each other? To bind on by holding each other between the legs? Is the truth that you see something in yourself in gay people and do not wish to deal with that side of your personality? Freud said that everyone is to a degree bisexual. So perhaps your homophobic attitude is a repression of this thought process.
It is ironic that you have a victorian attitude to sex while living in a part of the world where sexual slavery, prostitution and paedophillia is rife. Do you protest about brothels? If two people being affectionate to each other offends then surely the sex trade out there must send you apoplectic. Does it? Or are you simply conditioned to hate that which you fail to understand.
Ahhhh, the old you don’t like poofs so youu must be one argument.
So am I also a closet Man Utd fan because I actually support Everton, am I secretly a part time politician as I think they are tossers, do I covertly eat tripe as I openly express a dislike for it ?
The answer to all is no. People can dislike things, it is allowed, except by do gooders.
As far as Thailands sexual slavery, go see it first, don’t get your facts from popular airport novels. Most are very much in it through choice.
I tell you what, you stop re-spouting opinions about homosexuality from Viz magazine and I’ll stop reading ‘airport novels’.
Can you to kiss (publick-ly) and make up….
Who has fallen out?
We merely exchanged some views, I don’t like poofs, Lib doesn’t like my opinion or terminology.
Not sure how it made me a racist and a poof myself but that’s her opinion and she is fully entitled to it much as I am entitled to mine.
The wider issue I see is people are not allowed to have opinions these days as the liberal thought police seek to stamp out any individualism. Its not like I go out queer bashing, its not like I discriminate against them in work (2 or 3 of the Thai’s who work for me are ‘ladies’ at the weekend and men during the week, but one is very talented and has just been promoted – by me).
No, GIT…your remarks regarding people who are homosexuals were attacks. Needing to write about one person’s treatment by you is a sign of prejudice. Otherwise, it would not even come to mind.
Stamping out individualism would seem to be the right wing conservatives and not the liberals as they seek for everyone to have a voice without attacking…although, some and not all use it to attack.

Hi – very great web site you have established. I enjoyed reading this posting. I did want to publish a remark to tell you that the design of this site is very aesthetically pleasing. I used to be a graphic designer, now I am a copy editor in chief for a merchandising firm. I have always enjoyed functioning with computers and am attempting to learn code in my free time (which there is never enough of lol).
