Why Is My Mother Getting a Tattoo

Oh, my!!! More and more people in their 40′s, 50′s and 60′s are getting their first tattoos.  It is a growing trend.  Much to some husbands and fathers dismay!!

So what do you have to say about you, your parents or grandparents getting tattoos?

To want to stick needles into ones-self is not logical – Captain.

ha ha CC, great point (pun intended) of observation.
My father at the ripe ol’ age of 63 decides to get a little devil complete with 3 pronged fork tatooed on the back of his shoulder. It turns out to be the little red devil Man Utd have on their shirts. My dad supports Liverpool Doh!

Funnily enough a 55 year old mate of mine recently confirmed he was getting his first tatoo – no idea where on his body but wanted one!

Interesting how the olds reckon you’ll regret a tatoo when you’re older as it fades or you’ve moved on – so the answer…get one when you’re too old to regret it?!!?

  4. Jim,

I like your observation. Get it when you don’t care what other people think anymore!!! My husband is so afraid that I will get a tattoo…I may eventually, but right now he says, “no.” Also, knows that he couldn’t stop me, but I respect his wishes.

I like your friend…it ought to be interesting where and what> ;-)

  5. I got my first tattoo (and five more to got with it lol) five years ago at the age of 48 :)

All six of my tattoos are Chinese characters. They are small and descrete and are meaningful to me.

The only obvious one is in the palm of my right hand – it says “destiny.”

I love tattoos and plan on getting another one day soon…
