Yes, this is like Lib’s post on Go get rid of the manure! But, just for the record, I wrote mine first and was just waiting to post it. :) If you haven’t yet, go read her post too which is very interesting and mine just adds to her post.
I’ve been thinking…uh oh. Coffee is on the mind. I love coffee…need it in the morning. But, because people know that I love coffee along with my husband, we have an over abundance of coffee mugs. They are in a curio in the living room, displayed in the kitchen, takes up five shelves of our kitchen cupboards. (Pictured is not my coffee collection. It would be just a third of what has accumulted on the stove.
Okay, I cannot get rid of some like those that were
given to me or ones that have sentimental value or are unique. For this reason too, we still purchase coffee mugs. My latest purchase if from Mike French’s The View From Here magazine. I purchased it to help support his magazine. Okay, I know it is another mug!! I just couldn’t help myself. Click on the mug to see how you can purchase one for yourself or friends. Also, go checkout his magazine.
Then there are the ubiquitous coffee cuff or cozies that are a great idea for the environment as all the ones that I’ve seen are washable and reusable and in all different price ranges. The one pictured on the right is “ made from reclaimed veneer offcuts, scraps from local cabinetry shops that would otherwise be sent to the landfill” they are made by Contexture Designs.
With coffee cuffs, you can find them all over the place. Most
are hand made some are awful and others are extremely well made. Some are whimsical, funny or pretty. I only have three and one was a gift. They are great for keep the heat in and away from your hand. It is also great for cold drinks especially with the condensation that forms on the outside. The one on the right is my favorite and is faux suede from Coffee Cuffs.
Another place I like is from Etsy’s AlyTheRed’s Bliss Monkey Studio. Hers are handmade and she used to sew professionally before starting her own business. She also makes thing for all things related to coffee and…tea and wrist warmers and, water bottle carriers, bags and etc…
I could go on and on about coffee accessories, but I won’t. (the crowd cheers)
So, what things to you collect or a hobby that creates collections?

Great to see Mike’s mag coming on so well CC and thanks for updating here…
I tend to collect golf balls only to play them and lose them
Your coffee accessories may not be a bad call – mabe a coffee shop here is the way to GO!?!
Jim,
The fact they are lost and therefore no longer with you or in one place pretty much precludes them from being a collection.
May I suggest you start with a different collection, maybe a lexicon.
Mmm, I don’t really collect anything now, except bills but I used to collect pieces of broken crockery when I was a kid (I reckon a therapist could have a field day with that one) and fridge magnets as I got older but integrated fridge doors put an end to that one.
“‘” I am really thankful to this topic because it really gives useful information ;.’
